Surrounded by breathtaking views, ancient woodland, two tranquil lakes, and Peasy Beck running alongside, this secluded haven is alive with wildlife, native plants, and vibrant wildflowers. LoveHerder is a heart‑led, alcohol‑ and drug‑free festival set in the beautiful South Lake District countryside. Our home at Birkrigg Park offers flat open fields, two lakes, woodland, and the flowing Peasy Beck - deep enough for a refreshing swim. The festival is intentionally intimate, spacious, and welcoming, with a focus on connection, wellbeing, music, creativity, and community.
The programme begins at 10:00am on Friday 7th August and flows gently across the weekend with music, workshops, movement, creativity, and nature‑based experiences.
The festival closes at 5:00pm on Monday 10th August.
We keep things simple, gentle, and accessible so everyone can feel at ease.

LoveHerder signs will be visible from the road when you get close to the festival site.
Extra nights can be added if you’d like to arrive early or stay longer. We have provided this as an option so we can keep ticket prices as accessible as possible.

All vehicles must display the relevant permit for the duration of the event.
Weekend tickets include camping and access to all included workshops, music, and wellbeing spaces.

Day tickets give you access to the full festival experience for the day you choose
Your ticket will include including all included workshops, music, talks, wellbeing spaces, traders, children’s activities, and the natural areas of Birkrigg Park such as the woodland, lakes, and Peasy Beck.
You’re welcome to arrive from 8:00am and stay until the end of that day’s programme.
Day tickets do not include camping, but you will have full access to toilets, showers, drinking water, food vendors, and all communal areas throughout your visit.

Power is not available to campers — Birkrigg Park is off‑grid.
Birkrigg Park includes:
~ Peasy Beck (deep enough for wild swimming)
~ Two lakes

Swimming is at your own risk (LoveHerder nor Birkrigg Park or it's staff take any responsibility for anyone using the surrounding waters and Lakes).
Children must be supervised at all times.
Nudity is not permitted due to a public right of way.
Midges are common — please bring repellent.

Please bring your own plate and cutlery to reduce waste.
You are free to bring your own food.
If you have prescribed cannabis, you must provide your certificate before the event.
Smoking cannabis is not allowed on or around the land.
Designed with neurodivergent, disabled, and sensory‑sensitive guests in mind:

We operate with kindness, consent, and respect.
To honour the land and our community:
~ All loud noise (including drumming) must stop at 11pm
~ Acoustic music and gentle singing allowed at the firepit
~ Quiet hours across the site from 11pm–8am
~ Well‑behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
~ Owners must clean up after their dogs.
~ Failure to do so may affect future dog access.
~ Small stoves permitted
~ Fire pits must be off the ground
~ Firewood available at reception
~ All fires must be fully extinguished
~ Leave no trace - all rubbish must be taken home
~ Bring a torch - the site is very dark at night
~ Do not climb on dry‑stone walls
~ Do not enter fields with horses
~ LoveHerder accepts no liability for personal belongings, vehicles, tents, swimming in either Peasy Beck or the Lakes, or for children who are not beging supervised by their parents / guardians or otherwise
~ Photographers/videographers will be present; inform reception if you prefer not to be included in any publicity pictures
There are a few extra bits that will help you settle in and enjoy the weekend with ease.
~ Birkrigg Park is beautifully off‑grid, which means it gets very dark at night - a torch is essential.
~ Cash is the preferred payment method on site, as some traders won’t be able to take card.
~ Please bring a cushion, blanket, or yoga mat for workshops, and remember to pack insect repellent as midges can appear in the woodland areas.
~ Dry‑stone walls must not be climbed, and the surrounding horse fields must not be entered for safety reasons.
~ Photographers and videographers will be present throughout the weekend; if you prefer not to appear in any images, just let Reception know when you arrive.
~ And finally, LoveHerder is a leave‑no‑trace festival - please take all rubbish home with you so we can protect the wildlife and keep this beautiful land thriving.
